I am a "mostly" stay-at-home mom. My husband & I have 2 daughters whom we are home schooling. I also teach the Creighton Model Fertility Care System in addition to making the Stained Glass Candle Holders that are featured on my web page.
The name "Ladybug Lights" comes from my childhood nickname of "Ladybug". Also, my name is a French form of Mary…which connects me further to the name "Ladybug" through this legend:
The Legend of the Ladybug
Legend has it that ladybugs are a European symbol of good luck.
They received their name centuries ago when a village in France
suffered from a plague of aphids. For 7 long years,
very little rain fell and the tiny aphids would eat
and destroy every green plant they could find. Fearing starvation,
the farmers prayed to the Virgin Mary for help.
Soon thousands of strange looking beetles appeared and ate all the aphids.
The farmers were so thankful to Our Lady's intercession that
they named the beetles in honor of her -
"Our Lady" or ladybugs!
And so the next time you see a ladybug -
Remember Our Lady is also there…
helping us to pray!
